Vanguard Picasso Elementary competed on Saturday, February 9th in Santa Rosa. Picasso Elementary UIL students competed against 13 schools, including 3 sister Vanguard elementary campuses. This is the first year Picasso students have participated and competed in UIL events. They worked diligently alongside their coaches in preparation and their hard work did not go unnoticed as they secured 3rd place overall. With 44 kids competing, 18 of which placed in the top 6 placements, Picasso Elementary made a name for themselves in the 32-3A division as they left their mark as fierce competitors that should not be disregarded. to all UIL Academic students, teams, coaches, and parents for their hard work and dedication.
Students at Vanguard Rembrandt Elementary are celebrating as ten of their own return from District UIL competition with awards. The event, held on February 9th, 2019 at Elma E. Barrera in Santa Rosa, saw 13 different schools compete. Out of 40 students representing Rembrandt Elementary, 10 brought back awards. The school dominated in Music Memory 3rd and 4th grades, while also bringing home 1st place in English Oral Reading, 4h grade. to everyone who participated.
The UIL team at Mozart Elementary competed at this year’s competition at Elma E. Barrera Elementary in Santa Rosa, Texas on Saturday, February 9, 2019. It was their first time competing at the district level. There were 29 competitors in 9 events and 8 of the students placed. It was a great learning experience for all who competed, and they will be ready for next year’s competition after this opportunity.
